[Main Help]       [BTD4 Hotkeys]       [BTD5 Hotkeys]       [Command-Line Options]

Click the tiny rangefinder icon in your system tray (by the clock) for the main menu!

MouseMode / precise placement of towers:
Select a tower to place, then press any arrow-key (up/down/left/right) to activate MouseMode.
In MouseMode, use arrow-keys to move, then ENTER to click and exit, or ESC to cancel and exit.
You can hold down an arrow-key to keep moving.  If you press Ctrl+arrow, the cursor will keep
moving automatically until you press that arrow-key again.
Tip:  You can select a new tower by pressing its in-game hotkey, without leaving MouseMode.

Rangefinders:
Right-click the game screen (or press Ctrl+F) to get a list of rangefinders.  Select a tower type,
level, and range (normal or beacon-enhanced), and it will appear.  (max 9 active rangefinders)
Move it where you want, then click to place it on the map.  To move it again, drag the title-bar.

Frequently-used Hotkeys:   (click "BTD4/5 Hotkeys" up top for the full list)

Some hotkeys will not work properly until you Align the game screen!
Once the game is positioned in your browser, press Ctrl+A to start auto-alignment.
If you SCROLL or RESIZE the game window, you should press Ctrl+A and Align it again.

Tips / Issues:
You can fit more towers by setting Flash quality to "Low" before you select a map to play:
Right-click the game twice for a Flash menu, then click Settings until the Settings box appears.
Right-click the game (NOT the Settings box) twice more to get the advanced Flash menu.
Click Quality, then click Low until the menu disappears.  Click Close until the Settings box closes.
(If the Close button won't work, press Shift+Tab twice to highlight it, then press Spacebar.)

To move a rangefinder whose title-bar is off screen, click its border, then press Ctrl+Shift+F.

You CAN place towers while a rangefinder is open, but you must avoid hovering the cursor over any
visible part of the rangefinder.  You can also use the game's built-in hotkeys to select a
tower without moving, or drag the rangefinder window's lower-right corner out of the game area to
get those borders out of the way, or use Ctrl+M to minimize the rangefinders temporarily.

Windows Vista/7's transparency may make dark parts of the rangefinder title-bar un-clickable.
If the entire thing becomes unclickable, try hide/unhide (Ctrl+H twice) to refresh the windows.

The rangefinder templates are simple GIF files, numbered by diameter.  You can create your own,
with different crosshairs or colors: Just copy-and-rename one of the existing folders inside the
"rangefinders" folder, and start editing.  Keep the background BLACK so it will be transparent.
